Seeking Commercial Development The City of Tom Bean is seeking commercial developers for a 3-acre parcel on East Highway 11. This available land is owned by the City and sits on a major thoroughfare near Sherman, Texas. This land is ideal for retail, manufacturing, office, or medical. Tom Bean Public Works personnel was increased to three workers in October 2018. This month, in March, 2019. our fleet had an additional truck added by an anonymous donor so that all employees could cover more ground and provide better service to our growing city! We are ready for growth!
At the March City Council meeting, Chris Donnan from Hayter Engineering in Paris gave a presentation about the possibility of a 2019 TA/SRTS Call for Projects Announcement grant through TxDOT. This grant would provide sidewalks in our city for our children going to and from school. Chris was captured in this photo while cruising around Tom Bean today taking a closer look at the sidewalk route to make sure he did not overlook anything when putting together an opinion of probable construction cost. Public Works Director Steve Dane received a certificate from Mayor Sherry Anderson Howard at the March Tom Bean City Council meeting for five years of service. He was presented with a 5-year service pin along with the certificate. The City of Tom Bean is blessed to have Steve leading our Public Works Department. Congratulations Steve!
